You and Your Paintball Gun
A great way to have fun and get exercise at the same time is buying a paintball gun and get out there. Anyone can play boys, girls, men and women of all ages enjoy the fun and excitement of this relatively new sport. With the advancements in paintball guns or markers being made you could even compete once your knowledge or skill level improves with the gun that you just pulled out of the box.
If you do not know if will become a paintball addict like the most of paintball player have become you could rent the gear that you will need or ask a friend if you could try their equipment before you take that leap into the fun, excitement and danger of battle at the local paintball field.
The great thing about this sport is that the investment to start could be less than $200 and you can start playing in your back yard right away. No Golf course, ball diamond, basketball court or football field needed. Just a guy with a paintball gun and targets unless there is two people with paintball guns now the excitement begin.
There is some gear you will need to enjoy but keep you safe while play paintball. In any sport where two teams or individuals confront each other to do battle personal protective equipment for safety is needed. A mask for the face and eye protection is a must but a bare minimum goggles must be worn. You should not have any skin exposed that could hit with a paintball at 300 feet per second if you were shirtless or short sleeve and was hit in the arm or back it is going to leave a mark or welt.
Other gear is the gun, there are many manufactures of markers you can look them up on line or go to the local Wal-Mart and look at the Tippmann paintball gun starter kit complete minus paintballs but they sell them there too, all for less than $160. Paintballs the only thing that I know you can color the rainbow with all the different colors of paintballs. One note some of the older paintball guns will not shoot the new paintballs on the market so if you are looking to purchase a used paintball gun make sure it will fire the paintball that are out there. Hoppers for your paintball gun come in many sizes to fit your paintball gun some are gravity feed and other are mechanically feed. With all the running, sliding and jerking the gun back and forth trying to get the shoot off seem to do fine using a gravity fed hopper. Barrels are designed to make your gun shoot straight and not cause the paintball to burst inside the barrel. They come in many lengths and material for weight and durability. Air Supply Co2 is cheaper than N2 for the average player Co2 is OK compress air is also used.
Accessories for paintball gun are unlimited from harness to hold your paintball tubes of paint to clothing worn while playing indoors, outdoors, in an obstacle course or wooded area with referee answering “CHECK HIM REF !!!!!! THE ONE BEHIND THE TREE !!!!!! “ To which there is a usual reply from the referee “!!! THEY ARE ALL BEHIND A TREE WE ARE IN THE WOODS !!!!”
